About Us

The Collective was created by a group of Kundalini Yoga teachers who trained together with the same school – Karam Kriya. We began with free classes in Clissold Park in north London during the summer of 2012 and have since progressed to popular regular classes and workshops at various centres. In 2014 we became a company with the aim of formalising our intentions and expanding our Collective over time. The founding members are Kary and Martin, both directors, and Madschri. We recently welcomed Emma Down as new teacher and member of the Collective sangat.

Our aim is to deliver classes and events that are both accessible and affordable to all. If you cannot come for lack of funds please write to us.

Kary

When a student is called into action on the mat it encourages a deeper self awareness; ultimately the aim is to understand I Am Enough. Through Kundalini Yoga – the yoga of self initiation I aim to encourage love and acceptance of all that you are, and consequently a loving connection to others.

“I am interested to call souls to gather… to discover again and again the immeasurable threshold where our differences and common ground meet; where we each find the space which is ours and the presence to be.” Shiv Charan Singh

Martin Haas – Founder, Dirctor & Teacher Member

IMG_3038I have been practicing Kundalini Yoga since 2008 and teaching since 2012. My aim is to guide the students towards a calm and focused mind, a knowledge of the self and a rejuvenated body. I believe that in order to claim residency in our soul we need to first make our busy mind a servant, and also maintain our body so it can carry us to our destiny.

“Your mind is your servant, your body is your vehicle and your soul is your residence” Yogi Bhajan

Madschri – Founder & Teacher Member

madschri2222I lead my classes with joy and spiritual devotion and emphasize correct posture and breathing. I have a deep insight into the minute details of the body’s mechanisms and believe that human beings mirror the Cosmos the same way the Cosmos mirrors humans. I therefore also use chanting and sound particularly during meditations to tune in with the Universal vibration we all are. I will be away immersing himself in Karma Yoga at various ashrams in India and Europe until spring 2015.

Emma Down – Teacher Member

EmmaA Seeker of the a Truth  –  My inquisitive nature has lead me to explore the mechanics of the body and mind and through these disciplines experience release of the Spirit.  A perpetually inspired individual I co-ordinate the UK STOTT Pilates Training Centre, and have long been a passionate advocator of the Central YMCA Movement and its Global Mission. I instigated the hippest bike shop in town and am in the throws of creating a new clothing line ‘Goldstepper’. In Kundalini Yoga a faith in authentic expression was ignited and the newly found ‘path of the King’ inspired delight that there was such an effective technique available to free the spirit and inspire Universal Peace in our times. The journey deepens each and every day & never fails to deliver…

Kundalini Yoga Collective - Ana St ClairAna St Clair – Teacher Member

The practice of Kundalini Yoga has had many deeply transformative effects on my life throughout the years. This has inspired me to study the art and science of it all in order to be able to share it with others and also to continue my personal growth.  Gong Meditation was my first encounter with yoga  and this paved the way for a deeper study of the field of sound healing. I am very grateful to all of my teachers that have passed on this priceless knowledge and I wish to encourage people from all areas of life to lead happier, healthier and more conscious lifestyles.

I wanted to find the most effective way to be higher consciousness. Something simple and fundamental which can help humanity without  limitation. I felt strongly drawn the breath as the means of achieving this. I found that Taoism, Sufism, Shamanism and of course  the Yogic traditionall use the breath. Kundalini yoga then chose me. Later I discovered how holistic and comprehensive Kundalini Yoga is.  I feel very fortunate to be able to pass this technology on and to to serve each participant.

I specialise in  addiction and recovery, detoxification and spiritual breathing techniques. I  co-host The Assembly of Awakening Men – Kundalini Yoga sessions for men. I am also co-founder of Our Subtle Bodies offering Kundalini Yoga and raw food retreats. I am a professional fitness curator, swimming and aquaerobic trainer.
