Weather

The temperatures vary from a 22º-19ºC.
The first months of the year are rainy season in the area but it usually rains or thunderstorms once a day, if at all and for short periods. I have been to Cusco several times in the rainy season and have climbed up Machu Picchu during a rain shower. It was beautiful! The weather gets progressively hotter as you go north as it is summer in Peru. Lima and the surrounding beaches are scorchio as is the north. So if you want to travel and catch some serious rays, it’s not too far away.

What will a typical day be like?

We want to keep it organic and allow the Gathering to evolve as much as we can. Typically a day will look like this…

Morning gathering and meditation, ceremony or yoga in the large dome
Breakfast
Yoga, Sound healing, Breath work, Healing work
Lunch
Own time
Open space for guest workshops
Circle and Dinner
Evening ceremony followed by sharing and kirtan and entertainment in the large dome
Goodnight gongbath meditation

On day 3 or 4 we will leave for Huchuy Qosqo after lunch and hike up the mountain. We will then sleep in Andean lodgings in Lamay and then get up for 5am Aquarian Sadhana at the temple and have breakfast there. We will then descend back down the mountain and return to the Ashram for a rest before afternoon gatherings.

Will the altitude affect me?

The highest we will go is to Huchuy Qosqo which is at 3,600 meters.

Some people can get altitude sickness – there’s no rhyme or reason for who gets it or why.  My auntie, who is Peruvian has to rest for a day every time she goes to Cusco. My dad who is from Scotland can run up a 4000 metre mountain no problem. Usually it passes quite quickly and is manageable. I recommend you bring altitude sickness tables and we will have Mate De Coca tea always at hand.

What to bring

Yoga mat or sheepskin. We will have some yoga mats available at the Ashram.
Light shawls for the day, jumpers for the night,
Waterproof ponchos and walking boots.
Torches and basic supplies.
There is a small shop in the Ashram which will be stocked with basic supplies.
Bedding and soap is provided but not towels.

Do I need to have practiced yoga to come?

Come as you are. Whether you are a regular yogini or spiritual practitioner or you have never been on a yoga mat and are drawn to spending time with us, and yourself on this sacred land.

Will there be an ayahuasca ceremony?

We won’t be holding ayahuasca or any sacred medicine ceremonies. However we intend to hold sharing circles and beautiful rituals of other kinds.

This is an alcohol free event.

I want to visit Machu Picchu

We are a mere 66km from Machu Picchu.

Ashram Valle Sagrado are offering a two night all inclusive trip before or after the Gathering. If you are interested in also booking this please let us know on your booking form and will send you the details.

Our focus for this gathering is on the sutra for 2017
Vibrate the cosmos, and the cosmos shall clear the path.
3HO says “All of the Universe is a vibration of energy. We are either vibrating in harmony or disharmony
with the Universe. We vibrate frequency through our thoughts, words, actions, emotions, and feelings.
What we put out to the Universe we receive back, much like a boom-a-rang.

When life seems to be continually placing blocks along your path and nothing seems to be moving,
it may be showing that you are not vibrating in harmony with the Universe.
To vibrate with the Universe is to vibrate the higher frequencies of love, compassion, and kindness.

One of the best ways to be in the flow of the Cosmos is through yoga, meditation,
and chanting mantra—sacred sounds that attune you to the Universe.”
