Nadi Gathering, Bali
4 -10 September 2026
This September, we gather in Bali again.
Nadi Gatherings are small-group journeys into living traditions, shaped through ongoing relationships with local communities.
This is not a retreat in the usual sense. It is a guided encounter with place, practice, and people, held with care, structure, and reciprocity.
In Bali, spiritual life is not separate from daily life. Homes are family temples. Offerings are made each day. Ritual, devotion, and community are woven into the fabric of how people live.
We return to Bali this September to spend time within that rhythm. Our intention is not to consume. We go to listen, learn, and participate respectfully.
The week is structured through a combination of Kundalini and Restorative yoga practices, time in community, and participation in local ceremonies. Some moments are guided, others are simply experienced. There is space for both immersion and integration.
We work with a small group so the experience can be held properly. Nothing is rushed, and nothing is performed for us. What unfolds does so through relationship, presence, and trust.
This is for people who are wishing to engage with depth, beyond simply travelling. Those who are open to being changed by what they encounter.
The Programme
The week is a gradual immersion into Balinese life, held through practice, community, and time on the land.
Practice
Each day begins with Kundalini and restorative yoga, preparing the body and mind for what follows.
Local Customs
From there, the day unfolds between ceremony, time in community, and the natural environment.
We begin with a traditional Melukat water purification, held by a local Mangku priest and priestess.
We are joined for a contextual talk on Balinese customs by Thomas of Desa Seni.
Simple practices such as making Canang Sari offerings offer insight into the island’s daily devotional rhythm.
Community
Across the week, we are welcomed into a village community in Banjar Tinggan, Desa Pelaga, spending time with Komang and her extended family through conversation, food, and shared space.
Encounters with Gamelan music and traditional dance arise naturally, as part of daily life.
There are quieter moments in nature, including time at the Sempukul waterfalls.
The week closes with a fire ceremony (Agni Hotra) and final blessing.
There is space throughout — to rest, to process, and to be with what arises.
Meals are shared, vegetarian.
The group is intentionally small so the experience can be held with care.
About
Who Is the Gathering For?
This gathering is for those who are drawn to engage with depth, and who are willing to meet another culture with respect and care.
You may have an existing practice, or simply a sense that you want to experience something more grounded and real.
An openness to participate, listen, and be present is more important than prior experience.
The structure is clear, but the experience is not rushed.
Location
We will be based at the incredible Desa Seni eco lodge, located in the higher central heartland of Bali in Baturiti. Every detail is in resonace with the Balinese traditions and with the environment.
Thomas, the founder make an incredible team. Desa Seni is deeply immersed in nature, off the beaten track and near a traditional village in Kabupaten Tabanan.
Rooms
Desa Seni provides unique and private accommodations in antique wooden homes imported from various islands in Indonesia.
Each house has its own fascinating history and has been fully restored and modernized, offering all the comforts of home.
Living at Desa Seni means being surrounded by nature, original artifacts, and antiques that showcase the rich culture and heritage of Indonesia.
Food
Willy Kobylt, the Chef of the restaurant, Seasons, is all about stimulating the senses and surprising with unconventional and creative dishes made from fresh, organic ingredients. Desa Sensi kitchen team sources 80% of their produce from their own farms.
“We believe in supporting local suppliers who share our values of organic, sustainable, and fresh products.
By buying local, we not only support local families but also build communities.”

Frequently Asked
Do I need to have practiced yoga to come?
Come as you are. Whether you are a regular yogini or spiritual practitioner or you have never been on a yoga mat and are drawn to spending time with us, and yourself on this sacred land.
Flights
Flights are not included.
Flights from London and USA East Coast are currently around £1000.
If you’re coming from USA, flying from the west coast is much cheaper.
Note that there are many countries around that part of the world that are cheap and easy to get to from Bali. This could influence your choice of airline. For example if you want to enjoy a short stay in Hong Kong, flying Cathay Pacific makes sense.
Insurance
Please note that participants are expected to buy personal insurance to come on the trip – as per the disclaimer.
There are many policies that cover medical treatment and cancelled flights. We have used Which? And Martin Lewes to check and highly recommend those independent sites for guidance. We have found that insurance that comes with certain bank accounts also cover us at present.
