Do I need to be a Kundalini Yoga teacher to attend?

The Mentees meeting is for teachers only.
Flights
UK Flights to Lima are £750 or less if booked early to Jorge Chavez Airport LIMA
Domestic flight to Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport CUSCO start at about £80
Insurance
Please note that participants are expected to buy personal insurance to come on the trip – as per the disclaimer.
There are many policies that cover medical treatment and cancelled flights. We have used Which? And Martin Lewes to check and highly recommend those independent sites for guidance. We have found that insurance that comes with certain bank accounts also cover us at present.
LIMA - Arrival
SHUTTLES
Quick Llama is an excellent service! They have airport shuttles that take you door to door to your hotel or airbnb. The cost is $15. It is advisable to book in advance.
CUSCO - Arrival & Getting to the eco lodge
SHUTTLES
- If you arrive early and you’re staying in Pisac or on the route from Cusco to the eco lodge we will pick you up and take you to your hotel (approx price $10-$30)
- If you arrive early and are staying in Cusco we ask you to make your own way to the hotel – Cusco is small and there are a lot of airport taxis
- Either way, we will organise shuttles on the opening day of the Gathering in the morning and in the afternoon. The cost is between $10 – $30 per person, depending on how many people share.
- The journey from Cusco takes just about an hour and a half. From Pisac, it is about 45 minutes.
LIMA & CUSCO - What to bring
Lima: Yoga mat. We will have some yoga mats available.
Cusco: Light shawls for the day, blankets for practice at night – we’re in the mountains 3,000m up! (see Weather)
Basic walking boots only, unless you’re doing strong treks after.
A torch
No need to bring bedding etc. but do bring a towel, soap and toiletries
Waterproofs for rain – nothing too heavy
Sunscreen, water bottle and anything you need for your comfort.
Remember Peru is jumper/poncho central. You can buy more things for warmth if needed in Cusco or Pisac.
CUSCO - will the altitude affect me?
We make time for acclimitasation at the start of the journey. Arriving one day early and resting usually does the trick.
When you arrive at the ecolodge will be able to guide you to acclimatise and also have Mate De Coca tea always at hand. Altitude sickness tablets almost always do the trick. The highest we will go is to Huchuy Qosqo which is at 3,600 metres.
Some people can get altitude sickness – there’s no rhyme or reason for who gets it or why but it doesn’t last long and you can avoid it with proper rest on arrival.
Is Nadi Gathering part of the Programme?
Nadi Gathering is an additional nature and wisdom immersion in Cusco run by Kary Preetam. This is not part of the programme with Shiv Charan Singh and he will not be in attendance. However Nadi Gathering will begin with the day trip to Machu Picchu. Find out more about Nadi Gathering.
